STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Biolinq (San Diego, CA) is seeking to hire a Staff Software Engineer to help build the software platform for our cutting-edge biosensor technology. You will have the opportunity to help redefine how individuals monitor and treat their chronic health conditions such as diabetes.

Description

This is a dynamic role as part of a team of engineers developing the software and firmware at the heart of a novel intradermal biosensor technology. It can be a highly influential role straddling R&D and product development, using extensive knowledge of scalable computing environments, computational analytics packages, software systems, databases and web technologies.

What you'll be responsible for

• Participate in defining and developing the cloud-based web-offering component for our sensor technologies in both the Commercial as well as R&D space • Maintain and refine software applications that analyze and archive large datasets collected from the R&D environment • Create and evolve user interface implementation for R&D and commercial applications both independently and working closely with UI experts • Develop various statistical processing routines designed to integrate acquired data from multiple sensing sources and develop improved methods of graphical assessment of biosensor performance • Proficient in defining specifications and generating documentation for software product • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KEY SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field. Master's degree preferred • Minimum of 7 years' experience developing software for use in highly scalable and reliable cloud-based data collection and processing applications required • Experience in regulated medical devices (i.e. 510(k), PMA, HIPAA) is a plus • Strong aptitude with software and algorithm development in one of Python, Go and Ruby required • Solid experience working with various kinds of databases (both SQL and NoSQL) required • Solid web front-end experience in JavaScript (Node, Vue, React) required • Basic understanding of UI design and Human Factors Engineering is a plus • Experience with CI and CD systems, Kubernetes, GCP deployments is a plus • Experience in design and development in a microservices-based architecture strongly preferred • High levels of commitment to the principles of test-driven development, automated test frameworks and modular design • Ability to interface with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and biomedical engineers and work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. • Capacity to make progress on multiple projects and communicate ideas clearly to the team
